Within the Social Inclusion and Minorities Section, CAT works with prisoners, vulnerable groups, people excluded from the labour market, and Romani people. They struggle with personal issues and often have to fight social stigma, rejection, distrust, disenchantment. Our projects aim at prevention and health protection, school support, tutoring, job training and orientation, as well as to enhance individual resources through expressive and artistic workshops. In this field, Sbarre Mic Check rap laboratory was born – a cultural project of real artistic, grass-roots production. Offering new opportunities to those who have never had any – because they had missed or were denied them – ultimately means offering them back to the whole population. A reintegrated and integrated individual is someone who does not burden the social services economically, steers clear from unlawful behaviour, does not create social alarm, and produces – instead of consuming -resources.
