From 2016, CAT has participated in the management of Extraordinary Reception Centres (CAS) that house 17 women and 23 men. The facilities that welcome these people are located in the Mugello area, between Vicchio and Rufina. The focus on integration and the participation of these applicants for international protection in local activities is the central point of the working methodology.
In addition to the SPRAR (System of Protection for Asylum Seekers and Refugees) set-up in Val di Nievole, from 2018 CAT has collaborated with ARCI Toscano of SPRAR in the Pontassieve district. CAT decided to promote the principles of individual work and working in small groups when organising this reception set-up. The objective being to facilitate relations with the organisations in the local community, by means of cultural activities, volunteer work and civil service.
